Meet Our Trainer

Alexandra Makin

Head Trainer/ Owner

Sport and fitness have always played a significant role in my life. From a young age, I discovered my passion for movement and dedicated myself to the world of sports. Hi, I'm Alexandra Makin, the head trainer and owner at Fitlife Au,  I'd like to share a little bit about myself and my journey to help clients reach their health and fitness goals in a sustainable way.

For 13 years, I was a competitive Irish Dancer, dedicating countless hours to perfecting my technique and honing my skills. This experience instilled in me a deep understanding of discipline, determination, and perseverance. It taught me the importance of setting goals and working diligently towards achieving them.

After retiring from competitive dancing, I realised that my passion lay not only in my personal pursuits but also in empowering others to embark on their health and fitness journeys. This realisation drove me to become a certified personal trainer and establish Fitlife Au, a fitness centre aimed at helping individuals transform their lives through exercise and nutrition.

My philosophy at Fitlife Au revolves around the concept of sustainable fitness. I believe that true success lies not in quick fixes or fad diets but in sustainable lifestyle changes that can be maintained in the long run. I am committed to providing my clients with the knowledge, support and guidance they need to achieve their goals in a healthy and sustainable manner.

Every client is unique, with different body types, fitness levels and goals. Understanding this, I tailor personalised training programs and nutrition plans to meet each individual's specific needs. Whether someone wishes to lose weight, gain muscle, improve their overall health or enhance their performance in a specific sport, I work closely with them to develop a plan that aligns with their objectives.

One of the most fulfilling aspects of my job is witnessing the transformation that my clients undergo. Seeing them reach their goals, both big and small, fills me with immense pride and joy. It is incredibly rewarding to know that I have played a part in their journey to a healthier and happier life.

At Fitlife Au, I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I take the time to listen to my clients, to understand their motivations, fears and challenges. This enables me to provide personalised strategies that not only address their physical needs but also support their mental and emotional well-being.

As the head trainer at Fitlife Au, I am dedicated to continuously educating myself and staying up-to-date with the latest research and trends in the fitness industry. This allows me to provide evidence-based guidance to my clients and ensure that they are receiving the most effective and safe training methods available. I am currently studying a Certificate IV in Nutrition.
